| Description: | Description of Position
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented, Linux Systems Integrator to support deployed and new installations. Qualified candidates will work with other motivated professionals on various levels of operating systems and applications and related support in the Linux environment.
This position is a hands-on IT position requiring technical expertise to effectively support the projects technology functions. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to configure and troubleshoot the RedHat Linux OS and hardware issues on server class systems. Basic networking skills and understanding of IP networks are required. Must also have a working knowledge of the different shell scripts.
This position requires a travel commitment of 2 weeks every other month.

| Duties: | Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform installation of firmware and software for systems
Test and deploy the systems to the field, perform DT&E and configure the system for Data Flow.
Test upgrade path for releasable software
Identify and characterize test data to establish a know set of inputs/outputs that will thoroughly test multiple components via end to end testing
Establish a reliable system Test Plan encompassing known inputs and known outputs that is confidently repeatable
Design and implement a methodology to verify the system outputs data to the expected back-end sub-components
At a high level, verify the format of any output data in the sub-component endpoints
Create use case scenarios as part of the validation process and incorporate these into DT&E procedures
The team is expected to ensure the necessary hardware is in place, perform the installation of all firmware/software, document the software versions sent to site, document any non-standard configuration, perform DT&E and configure the system for data flow. The team is also responsible for upgrades of sites.
In addition, the team utilizes test systems to perform testing of new builds, patches and capabilities as they become available. Primary role in determining when software is ready for deployment.
Ensure systems are kept in required configuration profile, including: patch maintenance, changes as required by evolvement of production environments, updating software and software configurations
Practical experience with YUM and multiple YUM groups
Be a proactive member of team looking for improvements in technologies and efficiencies.
Hands-on experience with IBM BladeCenters and IBM Director software suite is desirable.
Assume other duties / projects as they arise and be responsive to the needs of the department
Provide weekly status report on activities completed in the last week and current projects

| Qualifications: | EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
4+ years Linux experience
2+ years experience working with RedHat Enterprise Linux, RHEL 3 or 4
2+ years experience with DHCP, DNS, SSH configuration
Experience working with Rational ClearCase
Experience working with Rational ClearQuest
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
A strong dedication to quality customer service
A strong work ethic; displays initiative, very hands-on, as well as a sense of urgency in completing assigned tasks
Superior technical skills; strong troubleshooting skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Employee is expected to write test procedures/plans and clearly communicate installation/configuration procedures
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, as well as work effectively on a team with other IT professionals
SIGINT Experience: At least three years of direct experience with an intelligence community or signals intelligent activity is desired.
Clearance: A TS/SCI with full scope polygraph is required. |
