Test Engineer III


In addition to the Labor Category description for Test Engineer III selected candidates will work as members of the Test and Evaluation (T&E) team and ultimately play a leading role in coordinating and executing life cycle test and evaluation of this system. Specifically qualified candidates will need to:
• Have previous experience with DoD and/or major systems acquisition test processes, procedures and documentation.
• Assist the Lead in organizing and coordinating with stakeholders (PM, developers, SWIT, development and operational testers, etc.) to plan, implement, and execute test strategies.
• Formulate and write appropriate test plans and test cases from requirements documentation to support the execution of test strategies.
• Provide system testing expertise to include TEMPS and other test documentation, test plans, test methodologies, subsystem interface testing and software module testing.
• Assist in identifying appropriate test environments for executing test strategy and plans.
• Assist in overseeing and executing program testing.
• Document tests results for corrective actions, reporting and audits.
• Have previous experience in software testing at all levels from module or unit testing through all levels of software integration testing.
• Support the software configuration management process and understand all software components and their interface requirements.

Required Skills & Experience:

Ten years experience in testing through a full system development life cycle including designing, developing and implementing test plans, test cases, and test processes. Experience in developing and enhancing test plans and procedures that define test strategies. Experience in documenting test results for corrective actions, reporting and audits. Experience testing systems from existing system and functional specifications. Experience developing test cases and plans from requirements documentation. Experience with XML, Java, C++, database interface, SOLARIS and/or LINUX, and Windows system programming is highly desired. Experience with writing scripts (Shell, or PERL) is highly desired. Working knowledge of and skills in the use of automated test tools and related CASE applications such as Rational Team Test, Rational Clear Quest, Win Runner, etc. Experience with at least three of the following: Test automation development or some demonstrated development experience; Performance / load / stress testing; Data interface testing; Data migration testing; User interface testing; Security testing; Code coverage tools; Systems integration testing; Web server, OS, and SQL database setup and administration. Certification in Software Testing (ISTQB, IIST or others) is highly desirable.

Qualifications:Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics or similar degree and meet the experience requirements; or equivalent documented combination of training and experience.
Equivalent experience examples are: an Associate’s Degree, military training, NCS classes, commercially provided training, or demonstrable program experience and an additional two years experience in this or similar labor category.


Security Clearance Requirements: US Citizen; ACTIVE TS SCI w/Lifestyle Polygraph (or within the last 24 months)
