Description of Position
• Working with security architects, mission developers, system accreditors to ensure mission system security.
• Must be able to create, modify, test and document secure system configurations per an approved schedule and milestones. As well as implement approved remediation actions that are recommended and identified during the certification and accreditation process.
• Candidate must have the ability to develop software for custom security functions on the LINUX operating system and the ability to integrate existing security software into a working system that meets specific functional and security requirements.
• In addition to developing and testing systems, the candidate will be responsible for assisting with the development of necessary systems engineering and NISCAP documentation to support system security accreditation and certification.
• Further the candidate should be prepared to adapt, configure and apply and modify, commercial and open source security testing tools for heterogeneous network environment.
Required Skills/Tasks
• Candidate will be required to provide monthly reports for all work preformed.
• The candidate must have technical knowledge and hands-on implementation experience in Security Engineering, Computer Security Testing, LINUX, application development, and PK-enabled system development
• Candidate should have experience in coding security and/ or monitoring applications in procedural programming languages and scripting languages.
• Candidate must be results orientated, self-motivated and possess effective communication skills.
• Exposure to DCID 6/3 and DoD security standards for processing classified information on data systems including Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) is desired.
• Knowledge of DIACAP & NISCAP
• Strong communications skills and customer service expertise: position interfaces with Customer ISSO team on a regular basis
Strongly desired skills:
Open SSL programming, familiarity with LINUX system build, installation and update procedures, experience in LINUX kernel module or driver programming, JAVA programming, Perl, Ruby, Unix Shell.
