The successful Systems Engineer, Level III will be performing a variety of senior level engineering tasks that are broad in nature and are concerned with system design, risk reduction, implementation and integration, including personnel, hardware, software and support facilities and/or equipment. In addition, the selected Engineer will be performing the following:
Serve as key engineering person on projects for both customers and the project teams.
Provide guidance and support to technical and programmatic requirements derivation.
Provide senior technical guidance and leadership of engineering, analysis and development teams. Guide users and team members in formulating requirements, advise on viability of alternative approaches, and conduct and evaluate feasibility studies.
Responsible for the integration of requirements, design, risk mitigation and technology of complex systems.
Provide guidance and support to ensure seamless incorporation of new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations.
Guide and participate in development of technical documentation associated with results analysis and risk mitigation.
Monitor Network traffic
Develop signatures
Maintain, modify, and develop scripts to keep the system in a healthy state | | Qualifications: | The successful Systems Engineer, Level III must have a Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline with at least 12 years of Engineering experience in technical program management and/or as a system development team lead or at least 16 years of training and experience can be in lieu of a Bachelors degree (at least 50% of this experience shall be in programs with relevance to SIGINT, Communications Systems, and IT). The selected Engineer must have the following experience:
Ten (10) years experience as a systems engineer in programs encompassing systems architecture, requirements analysis, design, production, integration, test and transition into
Five (5) years systems engineering experience obtained in an intelligence community environment
Experience with Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Experience showing ability to work both independently and as an effective team member
Experience showing flexibility to cope with a changing environment and short deadlines
Experience in planning and organizing
Excellent communication and customer skills (both verbal and written)
Experience with software application, programming languages, hardware, processes or as a manager is required
Must have experience with SNORT Intrusion Detection System
Demonstrated knowledge of Network based intrusion techniques
Rule set generation experience
Strong background in LINUX, MYSQL, SNORT, TSHARK, and PHP
Must have experience to restart processes, and monitor systems parameters such as disk usage and CPU usage
Must have experience to follow data flow between systems and understand the code that is used to move data
Security Clearance Requirements: US Citizen; ACTIVE TS SCI w/Lifestyle Polygraph (or within the last 24 months)
