Description of Position:
• Work in a fast-paced environment with developers to integrate and test software components into a system to meet requirements
• Work with developers, systems engineers and data characterization teams to produce the following types of tests:
o end-to-end functional tests for validating that functionality has been successfully integrated;
o operational tests--i.e., test that reflect the operational use of the system;
o performance tests that benchmark the system’s stability and performance.
• Take responsibility for running a suite of tests to validate a system build for delivery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot the system to resolve problems uncovered by testing.
• Detail documentation of tests and results.
• Develop scripts to incorporate into or to replace obsolete scripts in the test harness towards automated testing and analysis.

Description of Skills/Experience Desired:

• Scripting background in Linux/Unix; Perl a plus--skills needed for development of the test harness.
• Experience developing and setting up test beds and drivers.
• Familiarity with C++ and Java development.
• General understanding of network protocols and processing.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems administration.
• Experience doing performance/stability analysis/modeling.
• Experience working with Systems Engineers to develop operational tests based on operational scenarios.
• Detailed oriented and persistence to work with developers and systems engineers.
• Familiarity with using configuration management tools such as ClearCase or Subversion.



Qualifications:Security Clearance Requirements: US Citizen; ACTIVE TS SCI w/Lifestyle Polygraph (or within the last 24 months)


Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics or similar degree and meets the experience requirements; or equivalent documented combination of training and experience.
