Description of Position and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have experience in several backgrounds and will be able to work across job-domains. This candidate is equally capable of proposing web-communications strategies that promote and advance the program, while having the web-engineering skills to create and develop the web infrastructure to communicate and deliver those strategies. This candidate will also assist in developing the documentation in support of systems development, deployments, and support. It is expected that this candidate will have used these versatile skill-sets in a variety of job categories but might have achieved the same results within one job category.

For the web communication focus, the candidate will apply experience from some of these roles:
• Project coordinator
• SETA Advisor
• Communications specialist
o Internal and external communications; addressing internal audience (mgt./team) needs as well as customer/partner needs
o Marketing skills (experience from the commercial and contracting sectors)

For the web engineering and documentation focus, the candidate will apply experience from some of these roles and duties:
• Sr. Web Developer – web and/or wiki work
• Jr. Software Engineer – collaboration using web and/or wikis
• Work with systems engineers, testers, software developers, trainers, and other program personnel to gather pertinent information and format it into useable manuals
• Strong communications/marketing skills and a proven ability to work closely with management and technical leads and to clearly, concisely and effectively communicate
• Strong web/wiki development skills including:
o Web/wiki scripting skills
o Web/wiki layout and design skills
o PHP, MySQL
o Adobe Creative Suite (CS) family of applications (DreamWeaver, ACROBAT Pro)
• Create documentation templates, format content, and present information in a concise, understandable format
• Track document versions and revisions
• Assist in the analysis of requirements and preparation of comprehensive outlines for technical documentation
• Incorporate review comments and corrections into existing documentation
• Assist trainers and other program personnel in briefs, reports, and other documents such as training materials, briefs, test documents, installation procedures, and CONOPs
• Perform detailed editing of applicable contract deliverables
• Monitor quality and ensure adherence to established standards
• Maintain formal website documentation and manage applicable wikis

Desired Experience:
• Minimum ten years of technical writing experience preparing documents, reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiences including senior management
• Experience in effectively formatting/editing technical publications to include writing, editing, and illustrations including dataflow diagrams and graphics
• Fluent in PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, and MS Word and in-depth experience with word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, and database software
• Experience with the programs’ technology is very beneficial
• Strong understanding of proper document classification procedures
• Ability to gather and report program metrics using best available tools
• Experience with Rational products – ReqPro, ClearCase, ClearQuest and next generation tools
• Familiar with Agile software development processes and tools including Maven, Nexus, and similar next generation tools




Qualifications:Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics or similar degree and meet the experience requirements; or equivalent documented combination of training and experience. (Six years directly applicable experience over the required years is equivalent for a BS degree)



Security Clearance Requirements: US Citizen; ACTIVE TS SCI w/CI or Lifestyle Polygraph (or within the last 24 months)
